King's College 2, Delaware Valley College 1

WILKES-BARRE (PA) - King's College jumped out to a 2-0 lead and then held on for a 2-1 victory over visiting Delaware Valley College in a Freedom Conference game.

It was the conference opener for both teams as the Lady Monarchs improved to 3-9-1 overall and the Aggies fell to 5-7-1.

King's scored the lone goal of the first half as Kaitlin Wilcok connected on a direct kick with 33:11 left in the stanza. Delaware Valley then inadvertently put the ball in its own net to give King's a 2-0 advantage just 52 seconds into the second half.

Elise Dauber put the Aggies on the board 4:50 into the stanza with her team-best 11th goal of the year. The team then had to go the rest of the half with just 10 players due to an ejection and could not get the tying score.

Delaware Valley held an 11-9 advantage in shots. Cortney Bower made seven saves in the loss while Rachael Donatiello stopped six shots for King's.
