Delaware Valley College 1, Arcadia University 1 (2 OT)

DOYLESTOWN (PA) - Sophomore goalkeeper Cortney Bower recorded a career-high 21 saves as shorthanded Delaware Valley College earned a hard-fought, 1-1 tie with visiting Arcadia University in a Freedom Conference game.

The Aggies moved their record to 5-7-2 overall and 0-1-1 in the conference. They did so against one of the hottest teams in the country as the Knights moved their unbeaten streak to 11 (9-0-2) and saw their season record go to 10-2-2 overall and 1-0-1 in the Freedom Conference.

Bower was a key reason behind the deadlock as the first-year netminder saw 32 shots head towards her goal, including 24 in regulation. She was credit with 16 stops in regulation and added five more in the two overtime periods.

Delaware Valley, which was without the services of leading scorer Elise Dauber, hit the goal column first as sophomore Jacqueline Minnich grabbed a rebound off a Brittany Shubra shot and deposited her first goal of the season with 24:51 remaining in the first half.

Arcadia tied the game with just 59 seconds left in the half as Samantha Bates connected for her fifth goal of the year off an assist from Samantha Calhoun. It then stayed a 1-1 contest for the 55-plus minutes.
