DAUBER NAMED FREEDOM CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE YEAR
Del Turco Selected To First Team As Well

DOYLESTOWN (PA) - Delaware Valley College junior forward Elise Dauber (Erie, PA/McDowell) has been named the 2007 Freedom Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Year in a balloting of conference coaches. Fellow junior Christine Del Turco (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) joined Dauber on the first team.

It is the fifth time in the 14-year history of the program, including two of the last three seasons, that an Aggie has earned Player of the Year honors. Dauber joins Emilie Replogle, who won the award three straight years from 1996 to 1998, and Ana Mecaj, who took home the honor following the 2005 campaign.

Dauber, a two-time first-team selection, led the team and the Freedom Conference in goals (16), game-winning goals (4) and points (39). She also paced the Aggies and was tied for second in the league in assists with seven. Dauber will enter her senior season just 17 points shy of becoming the third player in school history (Replogle and Mecaj are the others) to reach the 100-point milestone.

Del Turco was honored by the conference for the first time in her career. The defender helped Delaware Valley record four shutouts and limit opponents to 1.5 goals and 15.1 shots per game.

The Aggies, under head coach Kevin Doherty, finished the 2007 season with a 7-10-3 overall record. Their 1-3-2 mark in conference play was good enough for fourth place and a playoff spot. They dropped a 2-0 decision at eventual champion Manhattanville College in the semifinals.
