DOHERTY RECORDS 100TH WIN AS HEAD COACH IN 5-1 TRIUMPH OVER WASHINGTON

DOYLESTOWN (PA) - Elise Dauber notched three goals and one assist and Kevin Doherty recorded the 100th victory of his coaching career as Delaware Valley posted a 5-1 victory over visiting Washington College in a non-conference game.

The win was the third straight for the Aggies as they improved their record to 5-6. The Shorewomen fell to 0-10 on the season.

Doherty took over as head coach in 1996 when Delaware Valley was in just its third year of varsity play. He has posted a 100-101-8 record in 11-plus seasons, including five winning campaigns and a pair of trips to the Freedom Conference playoffs.

Dauber made sure Doherty got the milestone win in his try as the junior upped her season totals to nine goals and five assists for 23 points. She opened the scoring just four minutes into the contests with an unassisted tally. Dauber then it 2-0 with 23:23 left in the half as she took a feed from Nicki Martini and chipped one past Washington goalkeeper Caroline Grier.

Delaware Valley took a 3-0 lead with 20:00 left before the intermission as freshman Jessica Stahley scored her fourth goal of the season off an assist from fellow rookie Samantha Loeber. The Shorewomen cut into the Aggie lead with just 2:13 to go in the half as Ali Snyder tallied an unassisted goal.

However, Dauber completed her hat trick just three minutes into the second stanza off a pass from Lobeeber. Dauber and Stahley were then credited with assists as senior Brittany Shubra scored her second goal of the year with 34:37 remaining.

Delaware Valley held a 20-10 advantage in shots. Cortney Bower recorded five saves to earn the win while Grier and Megan Russell combined for six saves for Washington.
