Wilkes University 3, Delaware Valley College 1

EDWARDSVILLE (PA) - In a battle of teams tied for third place in the Freedom Conference, Wilkes University used goals from three different players to down visiting Delaware Valley College, 3-1.

The Lady Colonels improved to 9-4-1 overall and 3-2-1 in the conference while the Aggies dropped to 4-10-1 overall, 2-2-1 in the Freedom. Delaware Valley drops to the fourth and final playoff spot with two conference games remaining (four overall).

Wilkes had a 2-0 lead at halftime as Christina Waldele scored 9:28 into the game off an assist from Dana Lehman, and Kristy Barsby followed seven minutes later with an unassisted tally. The Lady Colonels added to the lead with 26:28 remaining as Jessica Gannon scored off a feed from Catherine Simone.

Delaware Valley avoided a shutout with 5:03 to go as Elise Dauber scored her team-best eighth goal of the season off an assist from Christine Del Turco. The tandem has combined for 15 of the team's 20 goals and 39 of the team's 51 points.

Emily Joyce made six saves in the loss as the Aggies were outshot 17-6 in the game.
