SWARTHMORE (PA) -- Swarthmore College scored two times in the first half and the Garnet made them stand in a 2-0 shutout over visiting Delaware Valley College in Tuesday night's non-conference action.

Swarthmore (5-0-1) hit the scoreboard less than nine minutes (8:53) into the contest as Julia Luongo hit the net on a 30-yard blast. Then with 20:53 remaining in the half, Luongo lofted a pass into the box and Katie Kanuka converted it into a goal.

The Garnet held a 27-5 advantage in shots and could've had more goals if not for the outstanding play of Aggie (0-6-1) goalkeeper Emily Joyce. Joyce made nine saves, many on the acrobatic side as she kept her team in the contest.
