Wilkes University 1, Delaware Valley 0 (OT)

DOYLESTOWN (PA) - Jennifer Compton lofted a shot over the out-stretched arms of Delaware Valley goalkeeper Emily Joyce just 41 seconds into the first overtime period to lead Wilkes University to a 1-0 Freedom Conference women's soccer win over the Aggies on Saturday.

With the win, Wilkes improves their overall record to 10-0. The Lady Colonels, ranked fifth in the Mid-Atlantic region, also upped their conference mark to 3-0. Delaware Valley saw their seven-game unbeaten streak come to an end with the heartbreaking loss. The Aggies are 6-3-1 overall and 1-1-1 in the conference.

Compton's goal, which came off an assist from Tara Friedman, helped Wilkes overcome an 11-10 shots deficit. The Lady Colonels were able to secure a 7-4 edge in corner kicks. Liz Pauly posted her sixth shutout of the season in goal for Wilkes by stopping four shots. Joyce finished the afternoon with six saves for Delaware Valley.
