St. Mary's College 3, Delaware Valley 1

ST. MARY'S CITY (MD) - St. Mary's College scored two times in the second half, en route to a 3-1 vicyory over visiting Delaware Valley College in the second round of the Adidas/Seahawk Women's Soccer Classic.

The Seahawks (2-0) opened the scoring in the 10th minute when freshman midfielder Taylor Cervenka scored an unassisted goal. Delaware Valley (0-2) tied the contest in the 27th minute of play with an unassisted goal from freshman midfielder Nicole Martini.

However, St. Mary's pulled away in the second half with a pair of goals. Junior forward Laurie Hofmann slammed home an initial shot from Cervenka to give the Seahawks a 2-1 advantage in the 54th minute. Junior midfielder Carolyn Amirpashaie closed out the scoring with an unassisted goal in the 84th minute for the 3-1 final.

Emily Joyce (Alloway, NJ/Woodstown) recorded 11 saves in the losing effort for the Aggies.
