FREEDOM CONFERENCE SEMIFINALS
Drew University 1, Delaware Valley 0

MADISON (NJ) - The Delaware Valley College women's soccer team saw its hopes for a Freedom Conference championship come to an end on Tuesday evening as the Aggies suffered a 1-0, semifinal loss at top-seeded Drew University.

Delaware Valley, which was making its second postseason appearance ever and the first since 2000, fell to 10-9-1 on the season and will now await word on Monday, November 7 to see if it receives a bid to the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) playoffs.

The Rangers won their ninth straight game to improve to 13-4 on the season. They will host third-seeded Wilkes University - a 2-1 winner over No. 2 FDU-Florham earlier in the day - in the Freedom Conference Championship Game on Saturday.

The game was scoreless for nearly 86 minutes before Drew Cailin McGrorry netted the game-winner. Junior midfielder Cait Mueller fired off a shot that bounced off of Aggie goalkeeper Emily Joyce. McGrorry then headed the ball past the left post and into the net with just 4:43 remaining.

Drew held a slim, 13-11 advantage in shots while Delaware Valley had a 3-2 edge in corners. Joyce finished with five while Ann Mularz posted seven saves for the Rangers.
