Women's Soccer

Delaware Valley 6, Marywood University 1

SCRANTON (PA) - Delaware Valley College used four second-half goals, including two by freshman Nicki Martin, en route to a 6-1 win over host Marywood University in non-conference women's soccer action.

The Aggies (1-2) opened the scoring just 4:30 into the game when freshman Emily Perryman finished off an Ana Mecaj cross from the left corner for her first collegiate goal.

Marywood (0-1) responded at the 18:50 mark when freshman Kristi Parker got her first collegiate goal on a breakaway and knotted the game at 1-1.

However three-minutes before the half, the Aggies scored the eventual game-winner when sophomore Maggie Trunack scored off a Christina Del Turco assist.

The second half was all Delaware Valley as Del Turco and Brittany Shubra scored goals and Martini connected for the final two goals of the half.

Del Turco found the net off an assist from Trunack just 16:45 into the second stanza. Three minutes later Martini set up Shubra to make it 4-1. Martini's first goal came off a helper from Elise Dauber while her second tally was unassisted with 7:04 remaining.

The Aggies held a 24-4 advantage in shots and a 13-3 edge in corners. Emily Joyce made two saves and picked up her first victory of the year.
