Delaware Valley College 5, Immaculata University 0

DOYLESTOWN (PA) - Katie Leach and Ana Mecaj scored two goals apiece to lead Delaware Valley College to its first victory of the season, a 5-0 triumph over visiting Immaculata University.

The Aggies are now 1-6 while the Mighty Macs fell to 0-5.

Delaware Valley scored three goals in the first half as Ana Mecaj struck first with 26:47 remaining, and Leach notched tallies with 17:23 and 7:05 to go. Dana Roynack assisted on Leach's first goal while Mecaj set up her second goal.

Freshman Christine Gregory scored her first collegiate goal, an unassisted tally, with 30:12 left in the second half. Mecaj ended the scoring with her second goal of the game and the fourth of the season with 19:42 remaining.

The Aggies set a school record with 46 shots, breaking the previous mark of 38 from a 1998 contest against Rutgers-Camden. Meanwhile their defense, limited Immaculata to four shots, including just one in the first half.

Lindsay Eversole and Celia Clemens split the goaltending duties for Delaware Valley, with Clemens stopping two shots in the second half. Kristi Dittbrenner made 21 saves for the Mighty Macs.
