Delaware Valley 6, Neumann College 3

DOYLESTOWN (PA) - Delaware Valley College received goals from six different players as the Aggies downed visiting Neumann College, 6-3, in a non-conference game on Homecoming.

The Knights (4-9) took a 1-0 lead just 40 seconds into the contest on a goal by Debbie Gentry, but the Aggies (3-6-1) responded with three tallies to take a 3-1 advantage into the intermission. Ana Mecaj tied the contest 6:58 into the half with her team-best seventh goal of the year and then assisted on Katie Leach's third goal of the year with 29:55 remaining. Janelle Smoyer made it 3-1 with 18:03 to go before the half as she took a feed from Stacey Doderer and connected for second goal of the season.

Neumann closed the gap to 3-2 on a Beth Fickes goal, but Delaware Valley scored a pair of goals in a 43-second span to open up a three-goal advantage. Doderer found the net for the fifth time this season off a Dana Ronyack assist while Kate Decker's unassisted goal was her third tally.

Christina O'brien scored for the Knights with 18:15 remaining, but an Aggie player was dragged down in the box 12 minutes later. Senior defender Lauren Rusnak took the penalty kick and converted it for her first goal of the season and a 6-3 advantage.

Neumann outshot the Aggies, 29-24. Lindsay Eversole had 12 saves in the first half for Delaware Valley while Celia Clemens made 10 stops in the second half.
