Delaware Valley 4, King's College 1

WILKES-BARRE (PA) -- Ana Mecaj scored three goals and assisted on another while Katie Leach added a goal and two assists as Delaware Valley College posted a 4-1, Freedom Conference victory at King's College.

The Aggies improved to 5-7-1 overall and 2-3 in the Freedom Conference while the Lady Monarchs fell to 2-13, 0-5.

The hat trick by Mecaj was the second of the season for the sophomore and the third of her young collegiate career. She now has 11 goals and 25 points on the season.

Mecaj opened the scoring 13:29 into the contest with an unassisted goal. She then assisted on Leach's sixth goal of the year with 13:08 left in the first half as Delaware Valley took a 2-0 lead into the intermission.

Leach then set up Mecaj to make it 3-0 with 35:03 left in the game and Mecaj completed the hat trick off another feed from Leach with 8:43 to go. King's lone goal was by Christine Collins with 14:41 left.

Delaware Valley held a 34-11 advantage in shots. Lindsay Eversole and Celia Clemens combined for seven saves in the victory.
