Wilkes University 4, Delaware Valley 2

DOYLESTOWN (PA) - Holly Shiber scored two goals in a span of 2:15 to lift Wilkes University to a 4-2 victory over host Delaware Valley College in a Freedom Conference women's soccer game.

The Aggies (6-6, 1-2 Freedom) tied the game at 2-2 with 32:18 left in the contest as freshman Ana Mecaj used a superb individual effort to notch her team-best ninth goal of the season. Mecaj also leads Delaware Valley in points with 20.

However Shiber took the game over for the Lady Colonels (4-8-1, 3-1 Freedom). Shiber first scored off an assist from Tara Friedman with 20:15 left, then notched an unassisted goal with 18:36 to go. Shiber has six goals and 14 points for Wilkes.

The Lady Colonels jumped out to a 2-0 lead as Rena Bolin and Danielle Bolin scored first-half goals. The Aggies made it 2-1 with just 4:03 to go before halftime as senior Tara Corker scored on a free kick. It was her fourth goal of the season.

Both teams had 21 shots on goal. Lindsay Eversole made 12 saves for Delaware Valley while Kate Green stopped 10 shots for Wilkes.
