Women's Soccer

Delaware Valley 3, Lycoming College 2

DOYLESTOWN (PA) - Delaware Valley College scored two goals in the final five minutes as the Aggies came from behind and defeated visiting Lycoming College, 3-2, in a Freedom Conference women's soccer game.

Delaware Valley (6-4, 1-1 Freedom) trailed 2-1 in the late stages of the game when senior Tara Corkery broke free and scored an unassisted goal with 4:42 to go. It was Corkery's third goal of the season and the 26th of her career.

Just one minute and 40 seconds later, sophomore Kate Glaab took a pass from senior all-star Kirsten Wurzburg and beat Warrior goalkeeper Angie Brewington for her second goal of the season and the game-winner.

After a scoreless first half, Lycoming (2-9, 1-2) took a 1-0 lead early in the second stanza as leading scorer Melissa Wertz deposited her fifth goal of the year.

The Aggies tied it up with 31:38 to go as freshman Ana Mecaj scored her team-best seventh goal of the year off a feed from Wurzburg. However, the Warriors answered back exactly a minute later with Laura Dillon's unassisted tally.

Delaware Valley outshot Lycoming, 22-8, in the contest. Lindsay Eversole made five saves to earn her sixth win of the season while Brewington had four saves for the Warriors.
