Wilkes University 5, Delaware Valley College 2

DOYLESTOWN (PA) - Wilkes University jumped out to a 3-0 lead and never looked back as the Colonels posted a 3-2 victory over host Delaware Valley College in a Freedom Conference game.

The Colonels improved to 7-6-1 overall and 2-1 in conference play while the Aggies fell to 2-13 and 0-3.

Sean Vona opened the scoring just three minutes into the contest. Delaware Valley then put the ball in its own net 15 minutes later for a 2-0 Colonel advantage. Sean Stitt made it a three-goal game with four minutes to go in the half off a feed from Andy Curry.

The Aggies made things interesting as they scored with just 30 seconds to go in the half as Eric Maciag took a pass from Nathan Knight and beat T.J. Bolga for his fifth goal of the year.

However, Wilkes scored two times in the first 6:40 of the second half as Curry and Greg Miller connected for a 5-1 advantage. Maciag notched his second goal of the game off a penalty kick with 27 minutes to go to end the scoring.

Wilkes outshots the Aggies, 22-4. Baloga made one save and earned the win. Nick D'Amato and Steve Richtmyer combined for eight saves for Delaware Valley.
