Delaware Valley College 8, Southern Vermont College 1

BURLINGTON (VT) - Delaware Valley College's overnight trip to New England was a successful one as the Aggies received goals from seven different players, en route to an 8-1 victory over Southern Vermont College.

The win improved the Aggies to 2-8 on the season as they nearly tied the school record of nine goals in a game set against Beaver College (now Arcadia University) in both 1982 and 1985. They did set a new standard for shots in a game as their 42 attempts shattered the previous mark of 32 set against Beaver as well back in 1983. The Mountaineers fell to 0-9 with the loss.

Jeremy Fennell paced Delaware Valley with two goals in the came, both coming in the first half as the team took a 4-0 lead into the intermission. Matt Weiler and Matt Dias also picked up first-half tallies.

Eric Maciag, who finished with a goal and two assists made it 5-0 while Andrew Kelley, Robert Davis and Nick D'Amato picked up the final tallies. D'Amato, a senior, played in goal in the first half before going out in the field and scoring a goal in the second stanza. 41-year-old junior Tom Drummond notched two assists in the game as did sophomore Lucas Waybright.

Southern Vermont's lone goal was scored by freshman Kevin Wood.
