BRIAN KAMMERSGAARD NAMED NEW MEN'S SOCCER
COACH
DOYLESTOWN (PA) - Delaware Valley College is pleased to announce
that Brian Kammersgaard has been named the new head men's soccer
coach of the Aggies. He replaces Kalman Csapo, who resigned last
month after seven-plus years at the part-time position.
Kammersgaard, who will turn 40 in two weeks, brings a wealth of
coaching experience to Delaware Valley, which went 0-18 last season.
He spent the last three seasons at nearby Central Bucks West High
School and turned around a struggling program as the Bucks won a
total of 30 games and qualified for the district playoffs each season.
Kammersgaard also has collegiate experience as he spent six years
(1989 to 1994) as an assistant coach at the University of Pennsylvania,
and three seasons (2000 to 2002) as a part-time assistant at Temple
University.
"I'm very excited about this new challenge and I'm looking
forward to putting my stamp on the program," Kammersgaard said.
"We really have to start from scratch and put some life into
the team, but I am confident that we change our fortunes around."
Kammersgaard has been involved with a number of club teams over
the years, including the Montgomery Soccer Club where he has been
the head coach for the under 9 and under 15 boy's teams since 2005.
He was also the United States liaison to the Danish Women's National
World Club Team in 1999.
"Brian seems like the type of person we need to energize and
bring new life to the men's soccer program," Delaware Valley
athletic director Frank Wolfgang said. "He has an extensive
and successful soccer background and we are looking forward to working
with him."
Kammersgaard was raised in Denmark and received his education at
Handelhojskolen Roskilde. In addition to coaching at Delaware Valley,
he also works as a consultant for United States Customs. He and
his wife Meghan live in Huntingdon Valley, Pennsylvania with their
five-year-old daughter Mia.
