Wilkes University 1, Delaware Valley College 0

DOYLESTOWN (PA) - Wilkes University improved to 3-0 in Freedom Conference men's soccer play with a tough 1-0 win over Delaware Valley College on Saturday afternoon. The win improved the Colonels to 8-2 overall, while the Aggies fell to 0-10 overall and 0-3 in the conference.

The two teams battled through a scoreless first half before Wilkes got the only goal of the contest early in the second stanza. Matt Foreman took a feed from Mike Bridy and deposited a shot into the back of the net at 54:18 to provide the Colonels with the winning margin.

Wilkes held a 25-13 advantage in shots, while also securing a 9-3 edge in corner kicks. Colonels' goalkeeper Dominik Proctor picked up his fourth shutout win of the year by stopping five shots. Freshman Steve Richtmyer had 13 saves in his second start in goal for Delaware Valley.
