Wilkes University 5, Delaware Valley 0

EDWARDSVILLE (PA) -- Steve Uhas scored three goals and added an assist to lead Wilkes University to a 5-0 Freedom Conference men's soccer win over Delaware Valley College on Monday afternoon at Ralston Field.

The win improved the Colonels to 8-4-1 overall and 2-1-1 in the conference. The Aggies fell to 0-12-1 overall and 0-4 in conference play.

Matt Foreman got the scoring started for Wilkes just 1:19 into the first half when he knocked home a shot off an assist from Uhas to make it 1-0. Uhas would tally an unassisted goal at the 7:20 mark to extend the Colonels lead to 2-0. At 22:04, Uhas cracked home his second goal, this time off assists from Matt Martin and Andy Sandoe, to provide Wilkes with a 3-0 lead at halftime.

Uhas would cap his hat-trick at 59:56 of the second stanza when he took a pass from Martin and slipped a shot into the back of the net to up the Colonels lead to 4-0. Matt Zampetti ended the scoring at 87:28 when he scored unassisted to make it 5-0.

Wilkes held a 20-11 shots advantage, while both teams were credited with five corner kicks. Dominik Proctor notched his sixth shutout of the season in goal for the Colonels by stopping all six shots he faced. Nick D'Amato had eight saves and Jordan Mondello finished with two stops in goal for Delaware Valley.
