SCRANTON (PA) - The Delaware Valley College men's soccer team ended its 2005 campaign with a 3-2 loss at The University of Scranton in a Freedom Conference game.

The loss dropped the Aggies to 0-18-1 overall (0-7 Freedom) for the second consecutive season. The Royals finished their year 6-7-4 overall, 3-3-1 in conference play.

Scranton scored the lone goal of the first half on Neil Harrington's penalty kick. The Aggies tied it up nine minutes into the second stanza as Tarweh Witherspoon had an unassisted goal.

However, the Royals responded with goals by Tim Logan and Kyle Falana in the second half for a two-goal lead with 8:11 remaining. Witherspoon scored his second goal of the game off assists from Mick Hannan and Brian Bloodgood with 2:24 to go to make it a 3-2 game. Delaware Valley then nearly tied it as Robert Shinn's direct kick was headed just wide of the net by Ryan Dunbar with just 14 seconds remaining.

Chris Zirpoli made eight saves for Delaware Valley, which was outshot 24-11 in the contest.
