Rowan University 7, Delaware Valley 1

GLASSBORO (NJ) - Rowan University scored seven unanswered goals to erase an early 1-0 deficit and down visiting Delaware Valley College, 7-1, in the season opener for both teams.

The game was part of Rowan's Tournament and the Aggies will meet St. Joseph's College (NY) at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. The host school will play Ithaca College at 7:00 p.m.

Delaware Valley opened the scoring just 5:42 into the contest as freshman Zack DelaPena notched an unassisted tally. However it was all Rowan after that as the Profs ended the half with four straight goals by four different players.

Three different Rowan players found the net in the second half as it outshot the Aggies, 30-6, in the game. Anthony Clemente played the first half in the Rowan net and made one save. Brian Lloyd and Chris Cannon combined for four saves in the second half. For the Aggies, Nick D'Amato went the distance and stopped 13 shots.
