Men's Soccer

Delaware Valley 3, Moravian College 3 (2 OT)

DOYLESTOWN (PA) - The Delaware Valley College men's soccer team snapped a 17-game losing streak with a 3-3 tie against visiting Moravian College in a non-conference game.

The tie moved the Aggies' record to 0-5-1 on the year while the Greyhounds saw their mark move to 2-4-1.

Delaware Valley looked as if it was going to break its 24-game winless streak (0-23-1) as Mick Hannan scored off a Taeweh Witherspoon with 27:43 remaining for a 3-2 lead. It was Hannan's second goal of the season.

It stayed that until the final minutes when a Moravian player was pulled down in the Aggie box and a penalty kick was awarded. Ryan Hess scored off the kick to tie the game and send it to overtime. The Greyhounds held a 4-3 advantage in the two overtimes but the Aggies nearly scored in the final seconds of the second stanza as a header off a corner just went wide.

Moravian opened the scoring just 14:39 into the contest as Chris Dello Buono connected off a Louis Dollarton assist. However, Delaware Valley followed with a pair of tallies to take a 2-1 lead into the intermission. Zack DelaPena scored his second goal of the year off a Rachward Miller assist with 21:50 remaining in the half and Matt Pierce notched his first tally off a Pat Madigan feed with 8:25 to go. Dollarton tied the contest in the first eight minutes of the second half.

Moravian held a 35-16 advantage in shots and an 8-5 edge in corners. Nick D'Amato stopped 15 shots for the Aggies while Ryan Walker made six saves for the Greyhounds.
