Men's Soccer Ramapo College 2, Delaware
Valley 0 DOYLESTOWN (PA) - The Delaware Valley College men's
soccer team opened its 2004 season with a 2-0 home loss to Ramapo College in a
non-conference game. The game was scoreless for more than 79 minutes before
Will Mazzuto put the Roadrunners on the board off assists by Nicholas Mataya and
Dan Luker with 10:50 to go. Matt Chester iced the game with 3:56 left as he successfully
converted a penalty shot. The Aggies, who were 7-11-2 a season ago, was
outshot by Ramapo, 18-7. Chris Zirpoli kept Delaware Valley in the game with 12
saves, including nine stops in the first half. Pat Jagodzinski, who allowed just
nine goals in 15 starts for the Roadrunners last year, made three saves for the
shutout. | |
