Gwynedd-Mercy College 3, Delaware Valley 1

DOYLESTOWN (PA) - Gwynedd-Mercy College scored three times in the second half for a 3-1 road victory at Delaware Valley College in a non-conference game.

After a scoreless first half, Dennis Helverson gave the Griffins (5-4-1) a 1-0 lead just 7:35 into the second stanza as he took a feed from Tom Zachwieja and beat Aggie goalkeeper Nick D'Amato.

Delaware Valley (0-12-1) tied the contest just 78 seconds later as Brian Bloodgood notched his second goal of the season off a Tarweh Witherspoon assist. However, Gwynedd-Mercy answered with goals by Steve Mumford and Sean Carey for the 3-1 victory.

D'Amato and Chris Zirpoli combined to make six saves for the Aggies while Dan Ballard went the full 90 minutes for the Griffins and stopped eight shots.
