12 AGGIES NAMED TO MASCAC WINTER ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM
DOYLESTOWN (PA) -- Delaware Valley College recently placed 12 of
its student-athletes on the Middle Atlantic States Collegiate Athletic
Corporation (MASCAC) Winter All-Academic Team.
The Aggie women's indoor track and field team led the way as seven
players earned a spot on the list. The men's indoor track and field
team followed with three honorees while the women's basketball team
had two players named to the team.
The seven women's indoor track and field team honorees were senior
Rachel Federico (Effort, PA/Pleasant Valley/Equine Studies); juniors
Sara Brown (Troy, PA/Troy/Ornamental Horticulture) and Kelly Harding
(Denver, PA/Cocalico/Zoo Science); and sophomores Amanda Barr (Strasburg,
PA/Lampeter-Strasburg/Zoo Science), Greta Heagy (Lebanon, PA/Anville
Cleona/Ornamental Horticulture), Melissa Plourde (Folcroft, PA/Academy
Park/Food Service Management) and Brittany Schwartz (Strasburg,
PA/Lancaster Christian/Equine Studies).
Members of the men's indoor track and field team who were honored
were junior Dan Fenstermacher (Grove City, PA/Grove City/Biology)
and sophomore James Hammond (Corry, PA/Corry/Dairy Science)
Representing the Delaware Valley women's basketball squad on the
MASCAC Winter All-Academic Team were seniors Jen McCarthy (Cinnaminson,
NJ/St. Basil Academy/Secondary Education) and Megan Rotz (Doylestown,
PA/Villa Joseph Marie/Food Management).
The MASCAC is comprised of the colleges and universities that compete
in the Commonwealth Conference, Freedom Conference and Middle Atlantic
Conference. To be named to the All-Academic Team, a student-athlete
must be at least a sophomore in class standing and maintain a 3.20
or higher cumulative grade point average.
