24 AGGIES NAMED TO MASCAC FALL ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM

DOYLESTOWN (PA) -- Delaware Valley College recently placed 24 of its student-athletes on the Middle Atlantic States Collegiate Athletic Corporation (MASCAC) Fall All-Academic Team.

The Aggie volleyball team led the way as six players earned a spot on the list. The football and women's cross country followed with four honorees apiece, while the field hockey and women's soccer squads each had three players named to the team. Two members of the men's cross country and men's soccer teams were also recognized.

The six volleyball honorees were seniors Jackie Holdsworth (Dumont, NJ/Dumont/Small Animal Science) Andrea Wolf (Allentown, PA/Parkland/Business), and Bonnie Zobel (Southampton, PA/William Tennent/Biology); juniors Christen Hartman (Sinking Spring, PA/home schooled/Large Animal Science) and Kate Klish (Nanticoke, PA/Greater Nanticoke/Biology) and sophomore Ashley Unger (Cheswick, PA/Deer Lake/Zoo Science).

Representing the Delaware Valley football squad on the MASCAC Fall All-Academic Team were senior Gordon Davis (Swarthmore, PA/Strath Haven/Secondary Education) and juniors Greg Rissinger (Chalfont, PA/Central Bucks West/Social Sciences), Nick Shute (Upper Moreland, PA/Upper Moreland/Criminal Justice) and Ralph Stambaugh (Westminster, MD/Francis Scott Key/Criminal Justice).

Members of the women's cross country team who were honored were junior Sara Brown (Troy, PA/Troy/Ornamental Horticulture) and sophomores Amanda Barr (Strasburg, PA/Lampeter-Strasburg/Zoo Science), Melissa Plourde (Folcroft, PA/Academy Park/Food Service Management) and Brittany Schwartz (Strasburg, PA/Lancaster Christian/Equine Studies)

Delaware Valley field hockey players who garnered the award were junior Lauren Lansberry (Klingerstown, PA/Line Mountain/Large Animal Science) and sophomores Bethany Pavlik (Lewes, DE/Sussex Techincal/Equine Science and Management) and Katie Richter (Greenport, NY/Greenport/Zoo Science).

Representing the women's soccer team were juniors Nicki Martini (Flemington, NJ/North Hunterdon/Food Service Management) and Emily Perryman (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert/Small Animal Science) and sophomore Cortney Bower (Perkiomenville, PA/Boyertown/Small Animal Science).

The Aggie men's cross country team had two honorees in junior Dan Fenstermacher (Grove City, PA/Grove City/Biology) and sophomore James Hammond (Corry, PA/Corry/Dairy Science).

The Delaware Valley men's soccer team also had two receive the conference honor in junior Tom Drummond (Chalfont, PA/ La Salle/Sports Management) and sophomore Kery Swope (Marietta, PA/Elizabethtown/Agribusiness)

The MASCAC is comprised of the colleges and universities that compete in the Commonwealth Conference, Freedom Conference and Middle Atlantic Conference. To be named to the All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore in class standing and maintain a 3.20 or higher cumulative grade point average.
