Aggies Finish Third At Freedom Conference
Championships
SHAWNEE-ON-DELAWARE (PA) - Nick van Hook and Joe Sciosicia placed
third and fourth respectively to help lead the Delaware Valley College
golf team to a third place finish at the 2007 Freedom Conference
Championships held at the Shawnee Country Club.
The Aggies, which had the top score on Sunday (471), registered
a four-man team score of 964 for the two-day, 54-hole event. FDU-Florham
claimed its second straight conference title with a 949. The University
of Scranton, which led after day one, finished second with a 958.
King's College placed fourth behind the Aggies with a 979 followed
by Wilkes University (995), Lycoming College (1004) and DeSales
University (1044).
van Hook, a sophomore, and Scioscia, a senior, finished tied with
a 15-over-par 231 for the 54 holes. Tiebreakers are used to place
the top 10 and van Hook took third while Scioscia took fourth. Both
earned conference medals as well as first team, all-Freedom accolades.
It is the first such honor for both golfers.
Scott Guadagnino moved up from 28th after the first day to a tie
for 14th place with a two-day total of 248. Zach Huston was 22nd
with a 256 while Scott Gingrich finished tied for 23rd with a 258.
FDU-Florham's Greg Stockley won the individual crown by eight strokes
with a three-over-par 219.
