Aggies Place Second At Moravian Invitational

BATH (PA) -- Senior Lou Shults tied for top individual honors as Delaware Valley College placed second out of 18 teams at the annual Moravian College Spring Invitational held at the Southmoore Golf Course.

The Aggies notched a team score of 302 and trailed one of Moravian's split squads by five strokes. Keystone College (307), Albright College (308) and Ursinus College (314) rounded out the top five at the event.

Shults had his top collegiate finish as he shot an even par 71. He tied freshman Bryan Ott of Moravian, but Ott won medalist honors based on the third tiebreaker. Ott had a back-nine score of 35 compared to Shults' 36.

Senior Shawn Cooper finished tied for eighth out of the 86-golfer field with a four-over-par 75. Junior Mike Everingham was tied for 14th with a 77 while sophomore Eric Whitmore was tied for 27th with a 79. Junior Dustin Pierce did not figure in the team scoring but he tied for 39th with an 82.
