Aggies Place Fifth At Glenmaura National Collegiate Tournament

MOOSIC (PA) - The Delaware Valley College golf team finished in fifth place out of 12 teams at the prestigious Glenmuara National Collegiate Invitational held at the Glenmaura National Golf Club (Par 71).

The Aggies posted a two-day team score of 618, which trailed tournament champion Moravian College by just 12 strokes (606). Susquehanna University finished in second place with a 611 while York College (612) and McDaniel College (617) were third and fourth respectively.

Individually, senior Lou Shults was the top finisher for Delaware Valley as he was tied for 10th out of 60 golfers with a two-day score of 153. He shot a 76 on Saturday and came back with a 77 on Sunday to finish 14 strokes behind individual champion Steve Krug of York.

Junior Mike Everingham was tied with six others for 13th place with a 155 (80-75) while senior Shawn Cooper was right behind and tied for 20th with a 156 (81-75). Junior Dustin Pierce shot rounds of 76 and 81 to tie two others for 23rd and sophomore Eric Whitmore finished tied for 35th place with a 165 (87-78).
