Aggies Tie For Second Place At Widener Invitational

MIDDLETOWN (DE) - The Delaware Valley College golf team finished tied for second place out of 13 teams at the Widener University Invitational played at the Frog Hollow Golf Club.

The Aggies notched a four-man score of 322 for the best Division III score. Division I La Salle University won the invitational with a 312 while fellow Division I program Adelphi University finished tied with Delaware Valley. SUNY-Plattsburgh (327) and Rutgers-Camden (328) rounded out the top five.

Individually, Shawn Cooper and Mike Everingham each shot an 80 to finish tied with one other golfer for 11th place. Lou Shults and Dustin Pierce were tied for 14th with rounds of 81. Rob Difflin also competed at the event and shot an 88.

Grant Sharrow of SUNY-Plattsburgh and Phil Aurora of La Salle tied for top honors at the invitational as they each shot a 76.
