TOOHEY, THAXTON EARN WEEKLY HONORS FROM MAC

DOYLESTOWN (PA) - Delaware Valley College sophomore placekicker Shane Toohey (Neptune, NJ/Neptune) and senior safety Quincy Thaxton (Bayonne, NJ/Bayonne) were honored by the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) for their performances in the Aggies' 31-0 victory over Lycoming College.

Toohey was named the MAC Special Teams Player of the Week while Thaxton earned one of the three spots on the conference's Honor Roll.

Toohey was a perfect 3-for-3 in field goals and 2-for-2 in extra points for an 11-point afternoon. He entered the game just 1-for-2 in field goals attempts but connected from 39, 31 and 27 yards out in the opening quarter to help the Aggies jump out to a 16-0 lead in the first.

Thaxton racked up a team-high eight tackles and also added two interceptions, two pass breakups and a forced fumble as Delaware Valley held Lycoming to just 159 yards of total offense. Thaxton's forced fumble led a turnover at the Aggie 11-yard line when the game was 16-0 late in the first half. His second interception led to the final touchdown of the day.

Delaware Valley is 4-3 overall and a perfect 4-0 in the MAC. The team will travel to another unbeaten conference team, Widener University, for a big showdown on Friday night, October 26 (7:00 p.m.).
