ALBRIGHT COLLEGE 52, DELAWARE VALLEY 14

READING (PA) -- Albright College quarterback John Port completed 21 of 30 passes for 402 yards and a school-record six touchdowns as the Lions downed visiting Delaware Valley College, 52-14, in a Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) game.

Albright (1-0, 1-0 MAC) opened the scoring four minutes into the contest as Port hit Justin Holland for a 45-yard scoring strike. Delaware Valley (0-2, 0-2) countered as freshman quarterback Adam Knoblauch hit a streaking Rich Gear for a 92-yard touchdown. The touchdown reception was the 21st in Gear's career, tying the senior with Matt Altieri for the school's all-time record.

However, it was Port and Albright after that as the Lions scored 35 straight points to take a 42-7 lead into halftime. Adam Hubley scored on a one-yard run while port threw touchdown passes of 15, 5, 72 and 12 yards.

Knoblauch teamed with Giovanni Brooks for a 23-yard touchdown with 8:04 left in the third quarter to make it 42-14. Albright ended the scoring as Port hit Jesse Dorais for a 73-yard touchdown pass and Tom Fitzpatrick connected on a 25-yard field goal.

Knoblauch, in just his second collegiate start, completed 22 of 40 passes for 328 yards, which is the fifth-highest, single-game passing total in school history. Gear hauled in seven passes for 220 yards, just two yards shy of the single-game record. Brooks caught three passes for 57 yards.

Al Glackin and Ryan Reese helped the Aggie rusing attack gain 118 yards as they netted 40 and 36 yards respectively. Defensively, Andrew Erby paced Delaware Valley with 13 tackles, including five behind the line of scrimmage.
