Delaware Valley College 1, Manhattanville College 0

DOYLESTOWN (PA) - Bethany Pavlik scored the lone goal of the game and Amy Stafford stopped 11 shots as Delaware Valley College posted a 1-0 Homecoming victory over visiting Manhattanville College in a Freedom Conference game.

The win lifted the Aggies' record to 10-6 overall and 1-1 in conference play while the Valiants fell to 8-6 overall and 1-2 in the Freedom.

Manhattanville dominated the first half and outshot the Aggies by a 15-4 margin. However, Delaware Valley scored the only goal of the stanza with 8:41 on the clock as, off a corner, Danielle Heyne set up Bethany Pavlik for the sophomore's 17th goal of the season. It was also the ninth assist on the year for Heyne as the sophomore tied the school's single-season record set last year by former teammate Shannon Shivak.

Stafford made that one-goal lead stand as the junior started her second game in goal after starting at midfield earlier in the year. She stopped seven shots in the first half and added for more in the second stanza for her first shutout of the year.

Delaware Valley closed the gap on shots as it held a 12-5 advantage in the second half to trail by just four, 20-16, for the contest. Lauren Gagnon was credited with eight saves for Manhattanville.
