Eastern University 8, Delaware Valley College 3

ST. DAVIDS (PA) - Eastern University jumped out to a 5-0 lead and never looked back as the Eagles downed visiting Delaware Valley College, 8-3, in a non-conference game.

Eastern improved to 9-4 overall while the Aggies dropped their second straight and fell to 8-5. They will start Freedom Conference play on Saturday, October 6 when they travel to defending champion King's College - the team that eliminated Delaware Valley in last year's semifinals.

The Eagles scored five times in the first 19 minutes and 21 seconds of the contest, including two by Jamie Heck. Lauren Lansberry put the Aggies on the board with 14:58 remaining in the half off an assist from Michelle Cernoybl.

In the second stanza, Eastern struck for three goals in the first 12 minutes to build an 8-1 lead. Heck assisted on two of the tallies for a six-point performance. Kim Campbell, Olivia Derr and Lindsay Moyer finished with two goals apiece.

Delaware Valley picked up its final two goals in the last four minutes of the contest as Nicole Stefanoni connected for a pair of unassisted tallies.
