DeSales University 4, Delaware Valley College 1

CENTER VALLEY (PA) - DeSales University notched four unanswered goals to erase an early 1-0 deficit and defeat visiting Delaware Valley College, 4-1, in a Freedom Conference game.

With the win, the Lady Bulldogs improved to 7-8 overall and 2-1 in conference play while the Aggies fell to 10-7 overall and 1-2 in the Freedom.

Delaware Valley needed just three minutes and 43 seconds to hit the scoreboard as sophomore Bethany Pavlik deposited her 18th goal of the season. In the process, the midfielder tied teammate Michelle Cernobyl for Delaware Valley's single-season scoring record as the two have 43 points apiece.

It remained a 1-0 contest until the final 13 minutes of the half when DeSales struck twice to take the lead for good. Ashley Sparango scored the first of her two goals off an assist from Amy Pulcini with 12:11 remaining, and Pulcini followed with an unassisted tally with 7:01 to go before the intermission.

The Lady Bulldogs made it 3-1 just 80 seconds into the second stanza as Meghan Iudicello scored her third goal of the year. Sparango ended the scoring with her 11th goal of the year with 25:34 remaining.

DeSales outshot the Aggies, 26-13, and held a 9-8 edge in corners. Molly Pope stopped seven shots for the win while Amy Stafford had 12 saves in the losing effort.
