Delaware Valley College 3, Bridgewater College 1

OWINGS MILLS (MD) -- Michelle Cernobyl scored two goals and was named the Black Eyed Susan Tournament Most Valuable Player as Delaware Valley College notched a 3-1 victory over Bridgewater College (VA) in the championship game held at Villa Julie College.

Cernobyl, a junior forward and 2006 all-Freedom Conference honoree, scored the lone goal of the first half off an assist from Holly Rich with 14:29 to go before the intermission. She then gave the Aggies a 2-0 just 11 minutes into the second stanza.

Cernoybl finished with six goals and one assist for 13 points in two tournament games. She entered the weekend sixth on the Aggie all-time scoring list with 57 points and moved up three spots to third with 70.

Sophomore Bethany Pavlik, who tied a Delaware Valley (2-0) record with five goals in Saturday's 13-0 rout of Wells College, made it 3-0 with an unassisted tally with 15:08 remaining. Bridgewater (1-1) avoided the shutout with 2:07 remaining on a goal by Kaitlyn Brewer.

Delaware Valley (2-0) held a 10-5 advantage in shots. Junior Jackie Deschenes stopped three shots for the victory.
