Delaware Valley College 5, Arcadia University 0

DOYLESTOWN (PA) - Sophomores Danielle Heyne and Bethany Pavlik had two goals and one assist apiece to lead Delaware Valley College to a 5-0 shutout over visiting Arcadia University in a Freedom Conference game.

The win improved the Aggies to 11-7 overall, 2-2 and tied for the fourth and final playoff spot in the conference with two games remaining. The Knights fell to 5-12 overall and 0-6 in the conference.

Heyne upped her goal total to seven while her assist on Pavlik's first goal broke the school's single-season record in that category. She now has 10 assists to surpass former teammate Shannon Shivak's mark of nine set last season.

Meanwhile, Pavlik passed teammate Michelle Cernobyl for not only the team lead in scoring but also the single-season record as well. Cernobyl set the record earlier this season but Pavlik is now tops with 20 goals and eight assists for 48 points.

Pavlik gave the Aggies a 1-0 lead off an assist from Heyne. Heyne then scored the next goals off assists from Nicole Stefanoni and Lauren Lansberry. Cernobyl added her 20th goal of the year from Pavlik and Pavlik then ended the scoring off a feed from Lansberry.

Delaware Valley held a 41-7 advantage in shots. Amy Stafford picked up the shutout with four saves while Brittany Rasmussen stopped 23 shots for Arcadia.
