CERNOBYL, PAVLIK EARN ALL-CONFERENCE HONORS

DOYLESTOWN (PA) - Delaware Valley College field hockey standouts Michelle Cernobyl (Allentown, PA/Louis E. Dieruff) and Bethany Pavlik (Lewes, DE/Sussex Technical) were each selected to the all-Freedom Conference Team in a balloting of the conference coaches.

Both players received only second team accolades despite finishing one-two in the conference in both goals and points. Cernobyl, who was a first-team honoree last year, set an Aggie single-season record with 21 goals. She also added five assists for 47 points. Cernobyl will enter her senior season as Delaware Valley's all-time leader in both goals (46) and points (104).

Pavlik, who was the Freedom's Rookie of the Year and a second team selection last season, recorded at least one point against every conference opponent this year. She finished with 20 goals and 10 assists (tying the single-season mark) for a school-record 50 points. Pavlik is already third on the Aggie all-time list with 32 goals and 13 assists for 67 points.

Delaware Valley finished the 2007 regular season with a 12-8 overall record and a 3-3 mark in conference play. The Aggies are still hoping to receive a bid to the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Mid-Atlantic Championships, which are announced on Monday, November 5.
