CERNOBYL NAMED FREEDOM CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

DOYLESTOWN (PA) - For the second time in three weeks, Delaware Valley College junior forward Michelle Cernobyl (Allentown, PA/Louis E. Dieruff) has been named the Freedom Conference Field Hockey Player of the Week.

Cernobyl scored five goals and assisted on two others while breaking or tying three school records in a 1-1 week for the Aggies. She opened the week with four goals and two assists in a 9-0 rout of Cedar Crest. Cernobyl then scored the team's lone goal in a 2-1 loss to unbeaten Widener.

In the process, Cernobyl became the school's all-time leading goal scorer (39) and tied both the single-season (32) and career (89) records for points. She has 14 goals on the season, one shy of tying that single-season mark as well.

Delaware Valley is 5-1 on the season and will host Moravian College for a non-conference game on Tuesday, September 18 (4:00 p.m.).
