Delaware Valley College 5, Philadelphia Biblical University 2

DOYLESTOWN (PA) - Bethany Pavlik and Shannon Shivak had a goal and an assist apiece to lead Delaware Valley College to its fourth straight victory, a 5-2 triumph over visiting Philadelphia Biblical University in a non-conference game.

The Aggies are now 4-1 on the season and they can tie the school record for consecutive wins on Saturday when they travel to Wilkes University. The Crimson Eagles, who battled nationally-ranked King's College to a 3-1 game earlier in the week, fell to 1-6 on the season.

Delaware Valley scored three times in the first half with Shivak playing a role in the two of them. Amy Stafford opened the scoring 8:53 into the contest as she took a feed from Bobbie Fultz and notched her second goal of the season.

Nine minutes later, Shivak assisted on Michelle Cernobyl's second tally of the year. The senior then recorded her second goal of the season with 12:45 to go in the half off an assist from Pavlik.

Philadelphia Biblical hit the scoreboard just 52 seconds into the second stanza as Brittany Sparling scored off an assist from Mandy Stickler.

However, the Aggies put the game away by scoring two times in a six-minute span later in the half. Stephanie Dec made it a 4-1 contest with a goal off a Lauren Lansberry assist. The team was then awarded a penalty stroke and Pavlik went top shelf for her third goal of the season.

Stickler scored the final goal of the game, an unassisted tally with 1:48 remaining. Delaware Valley held a 12-7 advantage in shots while Jackie Deschenes notched five saves.
