Delaware Valley College 7, Immaculata University 1

DOYLESTOWN (PA) - Freshman Bethany Pavlik notched her first collegiate hat trick and Delaware Valley College tied a school record for goals in a game as the Aggies routed visiting Immaculata University, 7-1, in a non-conference game.

The victory improved Delaware Valley to 7-5 on the season. It marked the third time in school history that the Aggies scored seven goals in a game as the 1992 squad recorded the total in a victory over Cabrini College and last year's squad produced a 7-1 triumph over Albright College.

Pavlik opened the scoring just under five minutes into the game with an unassisted tally. Later in the half, Delaware Valley notched three goals in a seven-minute span for a 4-0 lead. Pavlik began the spurt as she converted a penalty stroke with 12:28 remaining. Michelle Cernobyl followed off a Shannon Shivak assist with 10:45 to go before halftime, and Bobbie Fultz had an unassisted tally with 5:38 to go.

Immaculata (4-11) got its lone goal of the game with 4:35 left in the first half as Briana LaPorta registered an unassisted goal.

The Aggies, who had 25 shots in the first half, continued its assault with 21 shots in the final 35 minutes. Shivak made it a 5-1 ballgame as she took a feed from Lauren Lansberry and scored with 22:11 remaining. Cernobyl got her second goal of the game and sixth of the season just two minutes later. Pavlik completed the hat trick with 10:07 remaining to give her nine goals and 19 points on the year.

Amy Stafford made seven saves for her second win of the year. Bridget Daugherty stopped 28 shots for the Mighty Macs.
