Moravian College 4, Delaware Valley 1

DOYLESTOWN (PA) - Moravian College scored three times in the second half as the Greyhounds went on to defeat host Delaware Valley College, 4-1, in a non-conference game.

The win snapped a two-game losing streak for Moravian as it improved to 3-4 on the year. The Aggies dropped their second straight to move their mark to 4-2.

The Greyhounds notched the lone goal of the first half as Savannah Bayer connected off an assist from Elyse Jurgen.

Moravian then scored the first three goals of the second stanza to up the lead to 4-0. Stacee Cupples found the cage just less than seven minutes into the half off an assist from Jen Gassner. Jurgen followed with a goal off a feed from Erica Spatz and Jayme Baker finished the scoring for the Greyhounds off a Laura Scaduto assist.

Delaware Valley's lone tally came with 1:14 remaining in the contest as Michelle Cernobyl redirected a Tiffany LaRosa shot for the freshman's fifth goal of the season.

Moravian held a 20-12 advantage in shots and an 11-7 edge in penalty corners. Amanda Guan stopped eight shots, en route to her third victory while freshman Jen Gately also made eight saves in the loss.
