Manhattanville College 5, Delaware Valley 0

PURCHASE (NY) - Manhattanville College scored five times in the second half to break scoreless tie and down visiting Delaware Valley College, 5-0, in a Freedom Conference game.

The Valiants improved to 6-7 overall and 2-2 in conference play while the Aggies dropped their second straight to fall to 6-7, 1-3.

After a scoreless first half, Manhattanville hit the scoreboard four minutes into the second stanza as Ali Van Horn connected off an Alissa Tyghter assist. Van Horn then set up Kelsey Verrillo for her first of two goals on the day with 21 minutes remaining.

The Valiants then scored two goals just 24 seconds apart as Jessie Grasso found the back of the cage with 16:22 to go and Verrillo followed off a Van Horn assist with 15:58 remaining. Mindy Martin ended the scoring with an unassisted goal with 4:10 left on the clock.

Manhattanville held a 22-4 advantage in shots. Jen Gately made seven saves in 54 minutes of action for the Aggies. Jackie Deschenes finished the game and stopped one shot.
