King's College 1, Delaware Valley 0

WILKES-BARRE (PA) - Suzanne Thompson's goal scored the only goal of the game with 11:14 remaining as the King's College field hockey team posted a 1-0 victory over visiting Delaware Valley College in the Freedom Conference opener for both teams.

The Aggies saw their four-game winning streak come to an end as they fell to 4-1, 0-1. The Lady Monarchs remained perfect at 6-0 overall and 1-0 in the conference.

King's goal came during an offensive flurry as Thompson redirected a rebounded shot past Aggie goalie Jen Gately for what proved to be the game-winning goal.

For the game, King's outshot Delaware Valley 20-6 and held a 15-5 advantage in penalty corners. Lady Monarch freshman goalie Kari Leach made six saves to improve to 6-0 on the season. Jen Gately posted nine saves for the Aggies.
