Delaware Valley 3, Eastern University 2 (OT)

ST. DAVIDS (PA) - Lauren Dubiel scored late in the first overtime as Delaware Valley College rallied from an early 2-0 deficit and defeated host Eastern University, 3-2, in a non-conference game.

With just 3:15 left in the extra stanza, junior Shannon Shivak's crossing pass found Dubiel in the box. Dubiel faked Eagle goalkeeper Rebecca Hayes with a move to the left and put the ball in the open cage for the sophomore's first goal of the season. It was the second straight 3-2 overtime victory for the Aggies (2-0) as they opened the year with a double-overtime triumph over Cabrini College.

Eastern (0-1) took a 2-0 lead by scoring two times in a five-minute span. Tamara Pezzotti scored off an assist from Lisa Bitterlich 10 minutes into the contest and Hope Koush followed shortly after with a penalty stroke.

Delaware Valley trimmed its deficit in half with eight minutes to go before intermission as Bobbie Fultz tallied her first goal of the season. Then with 15 minutes to go in regulation, Shivak found the cage for her first goal of the year.

The Aggies were outshot 23-14 in the game. Freshman Jen Gately made 13 saves in the victory.
