Drew University 2, Delaware Valley 1

MADISON (NJ) - Delaware Valley College's hopes for a Freedom Conference playoff berth took a serious hit with a tough, 2-1 loss on the turf at Drew University.

The Aggies end their regular-season with a 9-8 overall record and a 3-4 mark in Freedom Conference play. They now must hope for a lot of help the rest of the week to reach the conference postseason. DeSales (2-3) must drop its remaining contests to Wilkes University (2-3) and Manhattanville College (4-2) and then Wilkes, in turn, most lose to FDU-Florham (1-5) in order for Delaware Valley to go the playoffs. That would create a tie between Delaware Valley and Wilkes and the Aggies would have the edge thanks to a 3-1 victory earlier in the season. Delaware Valley cannot finish tied with DeSales in the standings due to a head-to-had loss.

The Aggies jumped out to a 1-0 lead against Drew as sophomore Lauren Dubiel scored her eighth goal of the season, an unassisted tally, in the first half.

However, the Rangers tied the game before halftime then notched the game-winner in the second stanza to improve to 7-8 overall and 2-5 in the conference.

If it was the last game of the season for Delaware Valley, then it also was the last in the careers of seniors Tiffany LaRosa and Marcy Nye. LaRosa is the program's fifth all-time leading scorer with 58 points and she is also tied for single-season assists record with seven this season. Nye has been a defensive standout during her time with the Aggies.
