Delaware Valley 3, Philadelphia Biblical Univ. 1
Cottman Becomes Aggies' All-Time Leading Scorer

DOYLESTOWN (PA) - Senior forward Kristin Cottman became Delaware Valley College's all-time leader scorer in the Aggies' 3-1 victory over of visiting Philadelphia Biblical University in a non-conference game.

Delaware Valley snapped a two-game losing streak with the win as the Aggies are now 4-4 on the year. The Crimson Eagles fell to 4-3.

With 23:33 remaining in the first half, Cottman got to a loose ball in the box, made a move on Philadelphia Biblical goalkeeper Katie Aungst and put the ball in the cage for her sixth goal of the season, a 1-0 Delaware Valley lead and the scoring record.

Cottman now has 34 goals and nine assists for 77 points in her career, breaking the previous record of 75 points (36 goals, three assists) that Aggie Hall of Famer Dina Bradley compiled from 1979 to 1982. Cottman, a three-time all-Freedom Conference honoree, still has 12 games to catch Bradley for the career goals record as well.

Cottman's tally was the lone goal of the first half. Delaware Valley made it 2-0 just 5:10 into the second stanza as freshman Lauren Dubiel scored her second goal of the year off a feed from senior Kelly Geissler. The assist was Geissler's fourth of the season.

Philadelphia Biblical cut the Aggie lead in half just two minutes later as Mandy Stickler scored off an assist from Christina Simon. However, Delaware Valley put the game away with 9:12 remaining as junior Tiffany LaRosa set up sophomore Shannon Shivak for her third goal of the season.

The Aggies held a 13-4 edge in shots. Freshman Sara Wallet played in goal for the first time in her career and made two saves to pick up the win. Aungst finishes with nine saves for the Crimson Eagles.
