Drew University 3, Delaware Valley 2

DOYLESTOWN (PA) - Junior Tiffany LaRosa scored two goals but it wasn't enough as Delaware Valley College dropped a 3-2 decision to visiting Drew University in a Freedom Conference game.

The win improved the four-time defending conference champions to 7-4 overall and 2-1 in the Freedom. The Aggies fell to 4-6 overall, 0-3 in conference play.

LaRosa's first goal, off an assist from Bobbie Fultz, came with 12:54 remaining in the first half and tied the contest at 1-1.

However, Colleen Mahon scored a pair of goals in the first 14 minutes of the second half to give Drew a 3-1 lead. Her first tally came just 88 seconds into the stanza and was set up by Ryan Hoover, while her second goal was unassisted with 21:12 to go.

LaRosa scored off assists from Kristin Cottman and Lauren Dubiel with 12:54 remaining, but that was as close as Delaware Valley would come. The two goals were the first of the season for LaRosa.

The Aggies held an 11-8 advantage in shots. Corrie Small made four saves in the loss while Tara Connelly stopped nine shots for Drew. The Rangers' first goal of the game was scored by Brittany Westcott 4:33 into the contest.
