Richard Stockton College 3, Delaware Valley 2

POMONA (NJ) -- Senior Sara Astbury moved into a tie for second place on the Delaware Valley College all-time scoring list, but it wasn't enough as the Aggies dropped a 3-2 decision to host Richard Stockton College in a non-conference game.

The Ospreys (5-9) jumped out to a 3-0 lead on goals by Dawn D'Orazio, Lauren Malinowski and Christy Capasso. Capasso's goal was off a penalty stroke that made it a three-goal game with 26:45 remaining.

Delaware Valley (3-11) began its comeback try with an unassisted tally by Kristin Cottman with 22:39 remaining. Then Astbury scored on a penalty stroke with 2:25 remaining to pull the Aggies within one at 3-2. The two points by Astbury upped her career total to 60, tying her with Leigh Poust on the all-time list. 1983 grad and DVC Hall of Famer Diane Bradley is the school's leading scorer with 73 career points.

Delaware Valley pressed for the tying goal and attempted two penalty corners in the final 30 seconds. Marlo Jones made five saves in the loss.
